  • Spline wrap IK deformation – render view not matching view

    Hey,

I’m hoping someone can help me because this is driving me insane!

I’m using a spline wrap to deform a shape for animation, using IK.

The animation tends to look fine within the view, but on rendering the IK deformation reverses in direction (in this example, the legs are going backwards). My question – Why doesn’t the render match the view and what can I do to resolve this?

Relatively new to C4D so could be doing something stupid – using R14 if this is of any use.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.

    Cheers,

    Paul

the latest update to R19 (just today) has “a stability fix for the Spline IK tag” in among the other fixes.

Gee, two years later, I’m finding the same problem in R20, and google takes me to this post….

Yes, I’m using the exact same method of rigging and having the exact problem, which is the render doesn’t match viewport, with the freaking IK bending towards the opposite direction. I really hope there’s some fix or way around it.
