This is a dumb question, I know. I’m used to working in Final Cut Pro and am having a hard time finding simple actions in Sony Vegas Pro. I tried an internet search and a search within the program itself.

Here’s my question…. how do you splice? I’m not sure what the word would be for Vegas Pro…. but when I place a video on the timeline, it overlaps everything I have so I have to manually drag everything across.

How do I set it up so that when I enter a video, everything AFTER will be pushed back, stay in order, and not overlap?

    Thanks for the help.

Just switch on the RIPPLE EDIT. It is a button on the upper side of the Vegas screen
