    can someone describe the process in making the splattered paint effects such as seen alot on comedy central designs. It is a lot of psuedo 3D.

    I would take a black card and actually splatter white paint on it. Take digital stills of this, crush the levels a bit, and use it as a luma matte for a solid or other layer. Than take these layers and offset them in 3D space for the layered 3D look.
