  spinning beach ball while logging

  trying to log clips for a project, during the process the machine locks up and spinning beach ball comes on. Checked all the settings…seems in order. Any ideas. System is a quad g-5 with, 500G g-raid. FCP 5.0.1. We can capture individual clips so far without freezing. Seems to occur only when logging to batch.
