Speeding Up
I needed to spee d up some footage about 175% and I was wondering if anyone out there had a better plug in or program to achieve this other than fcp hd, such as for after effects. When I do it in fcp, it looks a bit choppy and has some horizontal lines.

Check out Twixtor or re:Timer plug ins.
If FCP doesn’t look right, it often means that you may not have rendered it at Full Quality, are not in SafeRT or that you are not monitoring the effect on a video monitor. Make sure you are doing the above. In FCP 5, speed effects look quite good.

Try turning off frame blending.
