When attempting to speed up clips on my timeline, I get ” unable to complete command. A conflict occured during a trip operation”. This doesn’t happen all the time, is there something I can do to correct this?

    Try trashing the FCP Preferences.

Next time you come across this error message, move the video you are trying to speed-change to a place in the sequence where there is no audio or video above or below the clip and try again.

If you drop a clip with audio on a sequence, then select only the video and try to speed change you will get this error. slip the video out of sync from the audio and the error shouldn’t happen next time you try to speed change.
