    Hi,

Im working on a project which has become quite large, whenever i move my timeline marker i have to wait for up to ten seconds for the frame to load, very frustrating!

The project is a city scene with the camera doing most of the animation. I would like to be able to see all of the buildings and screens which wrap around them so is there any way to speed things up without turning layers off and making the preview 2px x 2px!

    Any help much apreciated.
    Adam

Have you got lots of footage?..If so is it on a fast RAID drive? That might help..

Other than that I’d say more processing power maybe, or GFX card upgrade?

Sometimes switching on OpenGL is faster, though I avoid it, generally. 🙂

You could also try Draft 3D or wireframes. Should be in the manual …

Have you tried creating proxies? Might help some. Also turn off motion blur & any slow effects you have until you have animated all of the camera moves.

Proxies? I am not familiar with that. I will check it out though. Thanks for your post.

Andrew Kramer did a tutorial a while back that explained proxies. Search the tutorial section.
