    Hi guys,

I’m trying to use Speedgrade to create looks and bring them into Premiere. For the most part this has been working perfectly, but I’ve been having problems with Speedgrade looks opening up much lighter in Premiere than they should be. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed in my workflow or formats from when the looks transfer correctly and incorrectly. Here’s a sample of what I’m seeing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Do the non-graded pieces of material in each program look the same in each program? I ask because I wonder if you’re using some kind of project “calibration LUT” or a video format that Speedgrade may, through many reasons, display differently by default than Premiere.

    Thanks for the reply Angelo.
Now that I think of it, the footage I’m working with is an “MPEG-2” format that Speedgrade doesn’t display, so I’ve been rendering bits to MOV files and making my Speedgrade looks from those.
I would chalk it up to this, but what’s strange is the issue seems to come and go, and even when it happens, it’s only on some clips. Right now all looks are displaying the same, even though the problem remained through a couple re-starts.

My hardware (MBP) is almost brand new, so I doubt that’s part of the problem.

Someone posted about this to the Adobe forums in July as well, but didn’t get any responses.
Hoping for smooth sailing when the direct Speedgrade-Premiere integration arrives on 10/15.
