hi, i’m working on a music video and I am aiming for the slowed down singing effect to the original track commonly used on weezer videos etc. It’s quite confusing but bear with me. I have speeded up the audio track using prem pro to 130%. The singer then mimed to the 130% speed track. I then loaded clip into prem pro and changed the speed of the visuals back down to 30% so the words would syinc when i layed the original 100% speed audio track under the video. But they don’t. Is this an effect that prem pro can cope with? it’s got to be possible surely.

    many thanks

Either you wrote it wrong or your math is off.

If you jumped it up to 130%, you need to bring it back down to 100%. Which means that your video will have to be 100/130 – or 76.9230769% to match the original music. (I think I got that right – doesn’t really matter as you will see)

In other words, there were easier numbers to use than 130%. But it does not have to be that difficult.

Try this. Put the original music on the audio track. Put the video on the video track. The duration is not the same. Use Time Stretch on the video to make them the same. If they start at the same time and end at the same time, they should be in sync, unless your singer didn’t do that good a job.
