Running MC Nitris DX v 5.0.3, Win 7/64.
    Footage is 1080i/29.97, DNxHD 145
I’m not able to apply a “fit-to-fill” speed effect… nothing happens.
So, let’s try a timewarp. “Effect does not apply.”
How about just a freeze frame? The choice is grayed out on the menu.
I’ve done all these effects many times, but only on SD material. Is there a limitation on HD footage or is my Avid broken?
    Thanks for any advice.

Sounds like you are mixing & matching frame rates. Your source footage then has a Motion Adapter applied to it, which won’t allow you to add a motion effect or timewarp. However, if you splice the shot into the timeline, then open the Motion Adapter (effects mode), you can promote the motion adapter to a Timewarp, and set speeds as you like.

That said, you don’t seem to be consciously working in a different framerate from your source footage, so that is something to make sure.

Well, that was it! I had 1080i footage in a 720p sequence. I changed the project settings, did a “refresh sequence” and it seems to be working! Many thanks, Job.
