This may be a workflow I’m overlooking completely, but I want to render out a sequence for a client at two different playback speeds. One at 24fps, one at 3:1 (playing back ‘step printed’ at 8fps).

Just rendered a job for a client and it seems that it may have ignored my speed change.

    1. Created a project with a 24fps sequence.
    2. Want this project rendered at 8fps.
    3. In CONFIG changed Timeline format > playback framerate> 8fps
    4. Render project. > render properties > frame rate 23.98.
    5. Rendered file is still at 23.98, not ‘step printed’ to 8fps.

I know there is a way to speed change (conform/right click on clip on timeline) the clips individually, but then on my sequence it cuts off the ends of each clip, and the cuts end up being in the wrong spots..

you need to change the speed of the clip in the conform page..

    here’s what I’d do,

copy and paste the original clip into a new track or at the end of your current conformed timeline,
right click the clip and change the speed to 8fps,

you will most likely need to drag or extend the clip out to show the entire clips length now..

    try that ..

but remember that resolve does not interpolate frames .. so it will be stutter …

The problem is that I have a SEQUENCE in resolve (not just an individual clip)

And I need that sequence to be speed changed. All the clips and cuts become innacurate (clips all get cut short) if I use your method.

I need a way to either precompose the sequence into a new layer, or have all the clips change their lengths to adjust when they are speed changed.

    suggestions?

My only other one was to render the whole timeline, then take that clip and speed change it.. but I’m trying to avoid the extra step and extra compression.

.yes, I have done that approach, but it takes Yoo long to adjust all the clips on the timeline. Especially when you have a client waiting. Is there any other way to have a pre composed timeline?
