    Hello all,
So, I have 1920×1080 24p footage from a Canon 5D that I’ve converted to Apple ProRes 422. I’m trying to speed it up in FCP7, but it never comes out clean. If I mark “frame blending” it makes it look soft & a little blurry, like there’s multiple images overlapping, and If I don’t mark “frame blending” it’s glitchy and choppy. I don’t have this issue with any other footage.
Is there a secret or better technique for speeding up this footage? Or does the 23.98 frame rate just have issues with speed changes? Gopro 23.98 footage has no problem with speed changes.

I appreciate any info, thanks so much!

Okay, cool, that makes sense. So doubling the speed would put the frame rate at 47.96.
But, say I’d want to speed a regular %100 clip up to %150. Would I just change the frame rate to 35.97? Or If I sped it up %30, would the frame rate be 31.174? Are all those frame rates stable?

Thanks SO much for your help,
    Kyle

Okay, I’m confused. I have a couple more questions -Your help is invaluable!

You said: “The same thing applies to conforming a 23.976 clip to 47.952 because it isn’t an integer multiple of the TIMELINE’S frame rate.”

-So what is the timelines frame rate? Is it 23.976, 23.98, or 24?

The footage is 23.98 and the timeline is also 23.98
