Speed changes made simple?
Hi All:
I am an Avid editor converting to Final Cut Pro. I work on projects with lot’s of speed up then slow down effects. It seems pretty simple and very clean on the Avid. I am confused with the whole speed mapping thing. Can anyone help simplify the process?In Avid you set key frame the type in speed %, go to next keyframe type in speed % ect. With Speed Mapping I am never sure of my speeds?

Use the Speed Tool (SSS). It gives you a tool tip pop up as you drag to see the speed percentage to the left and to the right of your keyframe.
And just to warn you, not everything (and in fact most things) works the same in FCP as it does in Avid. Also, while you are learning FCP it is painful at first, but after a couple of weeks you will be flying.
