I’m trying to change the color of someone’s shirt. On V1, I have the original clip. V2 is the same clip, with a spectramatte key of the shirt (promoted to 3D to invert), followed by an animatte holdout mask, followed by a color hue effect. The problem is that the color effect is effecting the original footage underneath, treating it as a filler effect/adjustment layer. How can I solve this?

    Thanks

    Hi Kevin,

I might be wrong but I think you’re over complicating things, if you drop the colour effect on to V1 and then change the hue in Chroma Adjust to the colour you want, then drop the Spectra Matte on to your duplicate on V2, key out the shirt, then it should just be a matter of adjusting the tolerance.

Apologies if it’s more complicated, it’s bee a while since I’ve used that technique as I always just cheat with secondaries 🙂
