    Spectramatte aliasing

    I am using SpectraMatte on a green screen clip shot on Panasonic Varicam in DVCPro HD (720P). The footage has been transcoded in Avid to DNxHD110. When I put the SpectraMatte key on the footage the edges, especially diagonal edges, show a distinct stepping. I can adjust the key and blur to compensate, but never completely eliminate the stepping. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Hi, Alice.
    I get this with spectramatte sometimes too. It certainly dislikes certain threshold/edge combos. I often gravitate to BCC’s keyer for this reason. It’ll offer a soft drop shadow for you too.
