I am in need of a recommendation for workshops that deal with some specific topics (below), most of which relate to FCP, which is why I am posting in this forum. I have searched the various listed workshops and was not able to find a good match. I am on the US west coast, so something in Los Angeles or near by would be preferable. I appreciate any recommendations.

    Topics:

A workshop that can provide an intimate understanding of HD formats and how they are dealt with in high-end post workflow. Ideally, this workshop would be geared toward someone who already has a very good understanding of FCP and After Effects, etc but want to intimately understand issues like:

    A) Best possible workflows from acquisition at all resolutions and frame rates to the final desired outputs in all the various HD and SD formats, resolutions, and frame rates and all the implications that go along with that work flow. How and where should the downconversion happen for the best results? How and in what programs or with what hardware is the resolution changed?

    B) We’d also like to find a workshop that deals with all of the above issues specifically in regards to RED acquisition.

In short, a workshop that helps the already-experienced editor and compositor navigate the endless labyrinth of frame rates, pull downs, resolution conversions, and all the work flow implications that these bring with them.
