specific content compression for web
Hello,
I got this project, which is coming to an end:
https://vimeo.com/15473856
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTPADn9N8DY
(this is the trailer as an example for the whole video)But I am not really familiar with encoding/compression for the web. My research told me that the content of the video is very difficult to compress.
I got lots of banding which I battled with grain and those subtle gradients and an almost monochromatic video shouldn’t make compression easier.
well, I can’t change the content but I am happy for every info on how I should go from here. I don’t really have a workflow to follow from here on.Are there any tricks like “avoid grain and do x instead to get rid of the banding because it works better with encoders”?
I really read a lot about this topic and googled my ass of – there is lot of answers – but it’s always very projectspecific.
My plan is to export an uncompressed .mov from after effects and go from there with something like “super” or adobe media encoder. It will be a trial and error process but maybe somebody can give me some light before I tap in the dark until I want to commit suicide 😉
best,
