Special Effects for FCP 7
I just purchased FCP 7 and want to create some special effects.
The effects would be typical of what you might see on a TV newscast (e.g. a graphic or pie chart showing rising or falling unemployment levels).
I want to be able to also change the position and size of the objects I create.
Can I do this with FCP 7 or do I need to purchase separate software such as Photo Shop, After Effects, etc?
I’m a novice so any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Use Motion that comes with FCS. Check out some of the Templates.

Motion is a strong application. Check out this link of some real world examples of Motion.
If you are going to do a lot of charts and graphs you may want to check out this plug-in for After Effect which is also a great program.
