My speakers pop intermittently when using FCP. I know i don’t have a blown speaker because it only happens when audio is playing in FCP. The same audio playing outside of FCP sounds fine.

    Any ideas?

I have an AJA 2 card and a Mackie 1402-VLZ Pro audio mixer.

Was the system ever working properly without popping?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the kona drivers.

I know the Kona 3 will experience audio popping if the control panel’s genlock setting isn’t set to ref in. That might apply to a Kona 2. Also, someone mentioned that a bad audio render file could cause this.

Go here: User Preferences / General / Audio Playback Quality

You might try the “Medium” or “High” setting.
