  • S/PDIF out constantly losing valid signal

    Hi All,

I’m monitoring my audio out of my Decklink Pro 4:4:4 card using the Flying Cow and S/PDIF OUT cables attached to the external pigtail. Every time I switch between apps, I lose the valid digital signal and it freaks out the Cow. Sometimes it even loses a valid signal while editing. I then have to reset the Flying Cow or even wiggle the pigtail in the back to bring it back. Is anybody successfully using this setup or is there something wrong with my card?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy Evans

    Hi Jeremy,

The next time you lose SPDIF output, try jiggling the breakout cable on the back of the card and see if it makes a difference.

It could be a bad converter or a bad DeckLink card. We’ll be happy to swap it out for you if we can verify this.

Hi Kristian, thanks for the reply.

This is exactly what is happening. Who do I contact?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeremy,

Jiggling the breakout makes a difference? And is it screwed in tightly?

Send me an email at support[at]blackmagic-design.com. Remember to include the serial number of the card (found on the card and box below the barcode sticker).

    regards
