    Hello all,

I’m trying to make a single strand of spaghetti come out of a bowl and be held in mid-air, as if by an invisible hand.

At the moment I’m not too bothered about the look of the strand, but more about the physics. Can anyone think of a way to create this kind of wavy thin line sort of effect in AE? Or is it really a 3D task?

I can think of a few ways that might work, possibly involving particular and air displacement, but it sounds like quite the hassle, so I thought I’d check here first!

    Thanks for your time…

    I’d go with a 3D app.

OR I’d shoot a spaghetti strand, and then roto a 3D stroke over it. That might work. But it might be too much of a hassle.

here is a tutorial on creating a swinging realistic chain if you wanted to see what you’d be in for if you tried this in ae. yours would most likely be more complicated…. like you might have 2 dangling ends that are connected by a nice smooth arc.
