Trying to simulate the space time curvature.

Look at the thumbnail of ” A NEW PICTURE OF GRAVITY ” — I’m trying to do this wireframe simulation with some simple parenting and deformers, but having no luck. A friend of mine did it with bones, but it wasn’t as symetrical as I would like it to be.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I used Sphereify, but it definately isn’t working properly — it moves the entire plane when its animated.

Well, if You have MOCCA, my first guess would of course be Clothilde. If you don’t have it, I think this could be done with the Formula Deformer set to give you a Gaussian bell shape. I just haven’t gotten round to digging into COFFEE and I’m terrible at math, so I have no idea how the input should look to make it happen.
