I was wondering if there is a way to control the playback level of the source window. This is something that has only been a problem since updating to the latest 2018 version.

I’m constantly having to adjust my mixer level when going between the source and timeline because the level discrepency is so extreme. I’ve never had this issue before and I can’t tell if it’s an issue with the latest Premiere or a setting I’ve overlooked.

I’m using a trashcan Mac with High Sierra, plenty of RAM.

Also, possibly related, when I do my mix in Audition (voice over for example), when I add the mixed track to Premiere it plays 4-5db lower than it does in Audition. Meaning, if I mix the voice to -8 peaks, when I import into Premiere and add to Timeline, it peaks at -12. So there seems to be something f’ed up on a larger Adobe scale.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Steve
