Source time In and Out Point
Hello great people, i have a question, when i do an in and out in the source, is there a way to see the actual time of the in and out points ? I know i can check when i add it to the timeline but i would like to for example do 3 seconds and know its 3 seconds before it hits the timeline.

Thank you so much, i should have caught that. Ok lets say you want to add 5 seconds, is there a way to specify 5 seconds from the top?

For example if you’re cutting 25fps footage you could do it in two ways:
-Numpad +, then 424, enter and mark out.
Or:
-Numpad +, then 500, enter, step back one frame and mark out. This is because Premiere (like pretty much every other NLE) uses inclusive out points so the frame you’re parked on is included.

You can also use the numpad + and duration command in the sequence. If you have nothing selected you can move the playhead with it or if you have clips selected you can move them around the required frame amount.

As an aside, this statement, while true, drives me crazy. The inclusive out point, while intuitive, is a major PITA. The exclusive out point, while totally non-intuitive, is mathematically sounder and infinitely more useful. It is not intuitive that the Earth revolves around the sun, but it is both true and useful information to know.
