I’ve got a title I need 6 times at once over something. I set over a mogrt file to premiere, but Wow it gets slow if you use 6 titles at once. I’m guessing because it is creating a new ae file for every instance of the title, so it’s got 6 open, plus the one I did for the background animation.

I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong though. The text works fine in the mogrt. But in after effects, when I use the composition it gives me all of the elements. But for the text, it only gives me the item name, which is “text bottom.”

In premiere it passes through a text field, and if I allowed to change font and size (yes in this case).

Is my only choice in AE to script it? Since I only want to change the text in this case, I’ll just make it equal to the layer name, and change the layer name to the text I want. But I just feel like maybe I’m missing something and I can’t find the answer.

Essential Properties in Ae should work pretty much the same as Essential Graphics in Premiere; you can change the source text in an instance of the templated comp in Ae just like in Premiere. Can you maybe post a screenshot of your UI so I can help you figure out what’s up?

Here’s the source text area of the title in Premiere:

And here is in AE. (it wouldn’t save the image for some reason, so I’ve added links)

It says text bottom, but I don’t get any details about it. So to change those things I have to do it all in expressions. In this case I only need to change the text, so I just made the expression: thisLayer
Then changed the name of the layer to be the text. Although, I needed 2 lines of text for one, so had to write the expression like: “first line\rsecond line”

Sure, I could add text style in the expressions as well, but where are you Supposed to change the text size, font, etc?
