  • Source Side Audio Monitoring Adjustment….

    Hi Guys…

Do you know a way to adjust the Source side audio monitoring levels?

I can use master out for the record side, but I don’t think that works for the source side…

this woud be handy when you dont have a mixer in line on your desk…

I have to admit that I read this post at least 6 times and I still do not understand what you are asking. “Source side audio monitoring levels” ???

Please explain what you mean for us dummies. Perhaps I will get it the second time?

Not with a DV source as far as I know. Some analog capture cards might have the ability to do so along with proc amps for video control.

    Hi Guys…

I’m just talking about being able to adjust the monitoring level when a clip is playing back from the source viewer. If you don’t have premiere running through an external mixer or your audio monitors volume control is not directly within reach, sometimes you can get blasted and you can’t do too much about it.

I don’t want to change the actual amplitude of the waveform…I just don’t want to listen to it as loud.

Premeiere’s Master level on the mixer is a good work around for the Record side (seqeunce) but it has no impact on the source side. (I’d still prefer a general and seperate way to adjust the level I’m hearing in software vs the actual level being generated by the source or sequence.

    Thx…

    Alex

Your source monitor may be controlled by your Windows Audio Mixer and the timeline and PremPro Mixer are controlling your soundcard. Try it and let us know.

Otherwise… move your external amp closer so you can reach the big knob.

(Note to myself: Move my amp closer to my desk)
