My apologies for blowing up this forum! I just can’t seem to get some of these answers anywhere else, and I’m getting a bit tripped up as I make the switch!

I’ve noticed that when I moving between clips in the source monitor, the zoom of the timeline bar (below the monitor itself) maintains the level of zoom of the previous clip. So, if I have a shorter clip, and then I’m looking at a longer clip, I have to zoom out to see the whole clip length. This gets very frustrating when going through loads of footage. I can’t find a menu option or keyboard shortcut to do a “zoom to fit” or anything of the like. Any thoughts?

Also, I’ve assigned a shortcut to “Source Clip: next.” I find it works much of the time, but it will ignore certain clips in my bin, starting back over at the top of the list. Is this just a bug?

    Hi Justin,

I’m not aware of a keyboard shortcut for this. I’ll bring it up though.

I know your looking for a keyboard but just in case you didn’t know you can double-click the scrollbar and it will zoom to fit.

Thanks Peter…I did NOT know that trick! I would certainly appreciate it if you could bring it up. Even better than a keyboard shortcut would be a preference that would automatically adjust the zoom to fit a whole clip (like FCP7) each time a new one is loaded in.
