source files splitted
Somehow while I was capturing, FCP splitted my files in three our four different files: one with the name I gave, and the others the same but with 1-2-3 so on, the first file is openable (from the finder) the others are just links, in the canvas they appear as one file, any Idea on how getting this option off? and what is it for?
PS: The options of limiting files sizes in the setting is off.

Dollars to doughnuts, the scratch disk you’re using is formatted for a PC… (select it on the desktop and type cmd+i to find out how it’s formatted – will show up in the window that opens)
It needs to be formatted Mac OS Extended. Doing this will erase the hard drive, so backup what you want to keep first, then recapture.

That was exactly the problem, thanks alot, it doesn’t harm FCP if using FAT32 disks? I mean it’s not something you have to worrie about while you work?

FAT32 will work with FCP for some things. We can edit video on it without problem. But worry about it. It’s going to come back and bite you at some point.

It slows down the disk’s throughput on a Mac… I”d reformat it in a heartbeat. I’d not trust it at all.
