Sound trouble!
Hi,
I am editing a wedding video which has some issue with the sound.
I guess while shooting the video the audio level settings has been set inappropriatly because of which the audio peaks distorting the bass.
Please note I checked the audio meters & it doesn’t go above 12 db or the red indicators.
Is there anyway that I will be able to fix this problem & get a very crystal clear audio?

Usually the old addage applies, “garbage in, garbage out.” However, make certain to check both audio channels separately, perhaps you’ll be lucky and find that you have one good one and one bad one. This often happens as sound is routinely recorded on one channel using a radio mic or a boom mic and with the camera mic on the other channel.

Sound can become distorted incoming to the camera via a mic, so it does not need to peak over on the recorded levels to be broken.
If what you’re previewing sounds distorted in fcp, it probably was recorded that way – and there’s little you can do. Listen to it via the headphone socket of your camera/deck to eliminate the Mac as a cause.
Can you get crystal clear sound? If it was recorded bad, then no – sorry.
