Sound Query – Re-editing an already rendered project
I have rendered a video and now need to splice some new footage and audio into the middle. I have managed to delete the original clips and hence can not simply open the original project in Vegas.
I can import the rendered video file (mpeg4) back into Vegas but can not import the audio file (ac3). When trying to import Vegas does not even recogniose this file as a ‘media file’.
I am sure there is a way around this. Can anyone shed some light on the situation.

You need to find an AC3 to WAV converter and use that on the audio file and then drop the resulting wave file into Vegas. If you google ‘AC3 decoder’ you’ll find lots of them.
