    Hi!

I am working on Avid Xpress pro on a Mac.

I made a back up compressed copy of an edit as a Quicktime movie and 9 times out of 10, you can’t hear one of the audio track (which is someone’s voice and appears 2 or 3 times during the edit). Sometimes when this happens you can hear the voice very very faint in the back and there is a tiny audio signal on the audio indicator thing. So the sound is not lost and at times it will play fine. I can’t go back to the original edit to make a fresh copy. This problem is very annoying. Please help! Thank you.

The fact that it’s not constant is puzzling.
I hate to lean on the old faithful but have you tried importing it into AE? If it plays fine, maybe you can re render a new QT.
Programs like Virtual Dub can do this as well, if you don’t have AE.
    Perhaps it’s a 44.1/48k thang?

Are your output settings set correctly (include selected tracks)?
If you have more than 2 tracks of audio you may be causing issues in your final output try setting your audio output to “mix to 1+2”.
Check to make sure your export settings are correct.
What version of Avid Xpress Pro and Quicktime are you running? If you updated your itunes recently, you may have messed up your Quicktime integration.
