    I have pcm-wave sound files that playback great in preview or outside of premiere pro but once i export to the media encoder with the following settings;

    Audio Summary:
    Codec: MainConcept MPEG Audio
    Audio Format: MPEG-1 Layer II Audio
    Bitrate (kbps): 224
    Sample Rate: 48 kHz

    I have some instances (when people are shouting), where the sound distorts horribly. Ok maybe horribly is an over-statement but its a real sharp & nasty crackle (I dont know the professional term sorry!).

    The Wave PCM file has the following settings;

    Bitrate: 2304kbps
    2 channel stereo
    Rate: 48khz

    Any ideas? I’m expecting this to be a real newbie problem, so as I usually say when posting here, sorry if this has been answered before but I had no luck with the forum search!:(

    Thanks!

    Lower your audio levels in the timeline. If the meter hits or gets close to the red, you will get digital distortion. If you are familiar with compression, you can use that effect as well.

    Cheers,
