    I have another issue!

I normally do all my video work in FCP, but I just read the post below about converting 4:3 footage into 16:9.

Did all the pre-work, but when I load my video into AE, there’s no sound!

The funny thing is I can see the waveforms on the browser window, but when I place the footage onto my timeline, there’s no sound playback and I can’t underdtand why.

Would appreciate some help here as well.

    Thanks very much.

Did you do a RAM preview?

    Thanks Steve, that worked.

Does anyone know if the setting for how long the duration of audio while scrubbing (with ctrl-key) exist? I miss some control over the sound in AE, and this setting would help a lot, I think.
But I might just not be in Kansas..

    Dear Great Experts,

Same exact situation as sanjchal, however, did a ram preview in AE and the FCP QT file (.mov) still has no sound playing. It shows sound track just as sanjchal says, yet other audio files that are .mov do play the sound, but the fcp files with audio, play with no sound.

the sound icon is on in timeline.

    any ideas?

The fcp files are fine outside of AE when playing in QT player.

    Thanks so so much.
    Always,
    Hoping

After all the garbage I’ve been dealing with Adobe Premiere CS4 for the mac and Encore, to now find out the AE doesnt even let you edit to sound is just beyond ridiculous. I know AE is a great compositor, because I demoed it a bunch, but FCP will do tons of keying and layering as well.
I’m not saying FCP is AE, but cmon

After Effects is a great program, but to not allow you to match your work to your audio…is this for real? Totally flabbergasted..

whenever I preview the audio, the animation isnt running…
