I am having an odd problem and was wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing. I am trying to export from an FCP sequence via compressor for DVD but Compressor won’t export my entire audio track as an ac3 – it exports a partial track (maybe a couple minutes, sometimes almost the whole thing) and then just cuts out. The audio waveform just ends abruptly if I analyze the file.

I have been able to export a complete aiff file – so that seems to be a key to the workaround but I am a little concerned about what is happening. I just recently bought a new tower – 2.8Ghz Quad-Core – and did a clean install of FCP Studio. This problem just began with my new set up.

Is it perhaps a sofware problem? It would seem odd that its the computer itself – but since it is brand new I won’t rule out anything.

BTW – i am running FCP 6.0.5 and Compressor 3.0.5 – both of which used to work fine on the old machine…

    Thanks for any thoughts.

    Two options:

1)Export a self contained file and use that in Compressor.

    2) Try Audio Mixdown before exporting… It’s one of the render options.

Thanks for the ideas – I already did audio mixdown and it was still the same story.

I guess I will have to export in stages – QT first and then compressor…
