Hi. I’m having some trouble with Final Cut Pro that’s been driving me crazy, so any help is very appreciated.

I’m working on a video project where somebody made the sound for me separately in Pro Tools. The sound is perfectly aligned to the video in my 29.97 sequence. However, as soon as I actually move the sound into that Final Cut sequence it automatically expands by 3 seconds, making the movie go out of sync. Since this is the speed of the video I need (the sound stays at the right speed if I move it into a 24 sequence, but the video does not) is there anything I can do to stop the sound from expanding?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Palemo,

I’ve done this a bunch of times with ProTools, so I know it can work.
I don’t know how you’re checking that it’s alinged without FCP? But you might want to check the lenth by opening it in QuicktIme and get info and see the lenth. Also you should check the frequency rate. This SHOULDN’T affect the lenth, but it might be a problem.
You can also use QT to create a new audio file (with the correct frequency) and see if that fixes it.

And before anything reboot and restart.

    Good Luck,
