  • Sound Effector not working

    Hey Everyone

I am having an issue with the sound effector. I am making a speaker using mograph, and i have used a linear cloner for it too.
My issue is that when i select a mp3 to use for the music in the sound effector, the frequency graph isn’t being generated and there is no effect?

    Any Ideas?

    thanks!

Cinema doesn’t support mp3 format. You’ll have to converted it to a .wav file.

    Perfect – thanks!

On a side note – isn’t that slightly ‘behind the times’ for a modern day graphics software?

I would say so. They have updated their supported sound formats since I’ve been using Cinema (since v6). Even the .wav support is pretty limited (use PCM).

The following sampling rates are supported for sound files (at least in R11)

    11, 22 and 44 kHz at 8-bit and 16-bit

    WAV Import
Only uncompressed WAV files are supported.
Markers included in the WAV files are imported into CINEMA 4D.
