  • Sound cuts out in random sections after iDVD output

    Friends:
I have a very frustrating problem which I’m trying to understand. I have a short video created in Final Cut Pro v5.1.2 and output to DVD using Mac IDVD. When I play the final output on our mac computers everything plays fine. On our office DVD player, the sound cuts out in two short sections and only on one of the sound tracks (the music track plays fine, but the voice track dissapears). The same output, played on a different DVD player plays absolutely fine with no glitches.

Then when played at a big dinner event, the sound that cut out previously on a different DVD player plays fine, but the sound cuts out in two other different short sections, again on only one of the sound tracks. Why does this happen and how can I prevent this random sound problem which seems to hit almost willy nilly and which is impossible to predict or prevent? Is there something I am not doing in the Final Cut edit?

    Thanks for any help,
    Tony

How did you get the video out of Final Cut? Did you export a Quicktime movie which you then imported into iDVD?

Can you go back and check that quicktime movie and see if the audio is fine there?

The sound is perfect in the Quicktime version.

Possibly the bit rate for the video is to high for some of the players?
