March 11, 2009 at 10:08 pm[Dennis Radeke] “To the best of my knowledge, CEDAR products do not offer the spectral frequency views that Soundbooth does.”
CEDAR moved on from the spectral sampling method years ago. Their denoise and debuzz algorithms are the best I have heard and regardless of price or platform, it is far from correct to say that Soundbooth is the best. Nice that low cost systems have their fans but please make your superlatives relative to actual experience of alternative systems.

Lets agree to disagree shall we? 😉
BTW when I say spectral frequency view, I didn’t say that was the method for noise reduction. Maybe you should try it before you draw conclusions?
I have based my assessment of this technology on being a lifelong musician with a college degree in music who has been a former pro audio salesperson who has evaluated lots of audio software over the course of the last 20 years. That’s not to say your opinion isn’t valid, just that mine is too. 😉
You also didn’t address the matter of cost – it seems that most CEDAR products cost more than Final Cut Studio and Adobe Production Premium combined. It may be the best, but it’s also not practical for most users here. I also did not find any MAC products there, but I could be completely wrong on that one.

“Good idea Dennis, otherwise Michael would probably launch into one his spiels about how he invented audio and actually sold it to God back before time began.
