    I’m making a clip for a presentation that has music on it and every time I try to render it (and sometimes when I RAM render) a message comes up that says:

    After Effects error: opening sound component (-2166).

    ( 10 :: 44 )

    Does anyone know what that means or if I can change my settings or something to get around it?

    Thanks,

    Stanton

    What are the specs of your sound file? Are you using MP3 (which is evil)?

    No, I started out with an mp3 but it made the song all glitchy, so I converted it to a .wav — it worked once where I rendered my composition to a .mov, but now it starts rendering and about 5 seconds later it comes up with that error.
