    Hi,

I hope someone can help me!! I’m editing on Avid Express Pro, using an AVID spec Dell 9300 PC with Windows. I dont know why but all of a sudden I cant edit on my programme timeline, when I try to make any changes a box comes up saying “cannot edit read-only track”. It only applies to my main timeline, on other smaller sequences its fine, what should I do? I tried creating a new project and copying it over but it still says ‘read-only’. Any advice greatly received…

    Thanks a lot!

Somewhere… and I’m trying to remember where… there is a ‘lock tracks’ command (maybe the clip menu?)…

Do you have a little padlock to the left of your tracks?

Did you make the project in another version of avid?

It’s either a locked track or stream count issue. You either need to unlock the track or edit the whole sequence into a new blank sequence and it should sort it, if not you must be trying to use more streams than either the video or audio allows in you version of avid.
