Sort text by length of each line
Hello all!
I’m creating end credits for a film in After Effects and I’d like to order the names on the Special Thanks card by how long each line/name is. That way, I can either have the lines of text form a pyramid, diamond, or whatever other shape without adjusting kerning or spacing.
I’ve found this web-based utility and that almost does the job, but depending on the font I’m using in AE, the ordering is incorrect.
Does anyone know of some kind of tool that can do this and actually sort by the length of the rendered text in the appropriate font?

Your best bet is to use a monospaced font for credits. Look at the M+ font family for a beautiful, modern, monospaced font. https://mplus-fonts.sourceforge.jp/mplus-outline-fonts/index-en.html
Not only will this solve your issue, I think you’ll find a monospaced font 1) more readable and 2) able to create a more pleasing credit roll layout.
