I am working for a corporate training division producing video content for their LMS. I’ve purchased the Sorenson Squeeze suite in good faith that it will allow me to generate deliverable video/animation content with minimal file size/image quality compromises.

Are there any others out there with Squeeze and suggestions for the best formats/settings (I know Cinepack and video are not advised.)

    Any information/suggestions/links are much appreciated.

    Thanks!

The setting for MOV called CD is pretty darned good. But only if Quicktime is your target format.

You really need to know what your target format is before settings can be discussed.

I’m reading through the Compression Primer white paper from Adobe (very interesting) and am searching for more information resources. I was just wondering if anyone else had worked producing video presentations to import into Authorware (.swf or .flv won’t import – only Flash 7 files) and any tips they may have…

I know this won’t help you now, but having done test comparisons between Squeeze and Episode Pro, Episode Pro does a much better job of compressing and usually gives you smaller files sizes. When I say better job, they usually look cleaner and closer to the original. Episode Pro also have more compression options.

This is just my observation. I don’t have any affiliation with either manufacturer.

No, it’s on a PC (an odd experience for me, but that’s all they use here.) I was familiar with the Sorenson name and other forums/users just sang its praises so I blindly requisitioned it in good faith. I’m hoping to get a copy of Ben Waggoner’s “Compression for Great Digital Video” and get a better grasp on the subject, but am always looking for additional resources.
