    Sorenson 3 – frame rate issue

    I’m an editor working in Final Cut, receiving animations which are sent as Sorenson 3 movies.

    The animator says he always renders at 23.98 fps, but sometimes his renders arrive at 24 fps.

    Does Sorenson 3 have a known problem preserving a specified frame rate?

    When you say “arrive” do you mean that is what the clip details say in FCP after importing?

    Or is that what the Movie properties say in QT player? I would open them in QT player and see what they are in movie properties.

    Sorenson will have a problem preserving exactly 23.98fps, understandably, but not 24fps.
