DNXHD 4:4:4 RGB… i couldn’t find it anywhere in the release notes or on the Avid website.
maybe i didn’t look hard enough, but at a first glance (and second and even third) it seems like its not info Avid deems important to share. i think its strange.

oh how long i’ve waited for this one DNX 4:4:4… all warm inside.. 🙂

    hector.

    hi Job

that sounds very interesting… if i’m calculating right, that’s 2:1.
where did you get this info from?

is there white paper for the new DNX?

    you’re right, i was calculating for 60P not i

but if its uncompressed… why is it DNX? and how is it different from what’s currently available?

i’m still betting in the area of 2:1

Yeah, it’s gotta be compressed, ’cause the marketing literature says something about maintaining your pristine color in a bandwidth-friendly manner (or words to that effect)…

If you do the maths, it is uncompressed. Period. The data rates I quote are correct.

P.S.: They don’t label it as DNxHD. It is labeled “1:1”.

then why make a big deal of it and publish as a new feature?

rgb 4:4:4 1:1 has been around for a while

I think I am mistaken and indeed am confusing the existing 4:4:4 RGB 1:1 10bit resolution with the new one.

No, if you do the math, it is approximately 2.5:1. Uncompressed HD is approx. 1.2 gigabits per second. The 440Mb rate is essentially identical to HDCam SR, and identical to the SR Master format Sony is offering with the F65.
