Working with Sony XD CAM for the first time. Importing from the PDW-U1. Installed the transfer utility. Two problems:
Transfer utility quits frequently and the clips show up twice in the browser. Can’t remove one, because the other will be removed as well

You’re not alone. So far no one around the COW has posted a solution that I’m aware of.

I’ve experienced the same problem. The easiest (not elegant) solution is to delete the clips from the browser and re-import the files from their folder on your raid. Don’t need to import from disc, just from what’s already been imported and residing on your HDD. There’s no duplication of files when they re-appear in the browser.

    Strange….

I haven’t seen that yet. I’ve used the new 2.1 software many times, including using it on the new EX1 demo that we did two days ago.

I just installed 2.1 on our second system and having the same problem with both. One system is a Intel and the other is a G5. However being able to rename files in the transfer software is worth the hassle and the changes write back to the disc.
