Tried every solution and rendered it (tried) abotu 11 times. I have a .veg file that when i render to any format just stops at 82%, the preview goes black and says frame 0. It then freezes permanently. I need someone with vegas 8 pro, so i can sned them the .veg file, they save it as avi, and they post back. Thanks so much

What kind of footage is on your timeline?
    What’s at the 82% mark?
    What’s your CPU?
Are you rendering it to a drive that’s not your OS drive?
How much rooom is there on the hard drives?

You can’t send a veg file and render out to avi just from that- one would need all the corresponding files as well (your footage).

Try this: Do a loop region around the last half of the timeline footage. Render that out to a format that will not take much of a quality hit (uncompressed avi if you have the hard drive space for it).

If that goes through without issue, render out the first half using the same method and then reattach them on another timeline and render to the codec of your choice.

I had a similar problem once and then realized I had a large .tiff still image on the timeline. That was killing the render. When I replaced it with a converted png, it worked fine.

I do reckon it is a type of file on the actual movie. I deleted some clips and it stopped at 82%, before this there were more clips and i shortened them to finish it, before shortening the clips I tried to render it as a test and it stopped at 72%, My CPU is fine and I am saving it to my documents. Well, trying. I think it stops where there is a quick time clip but, there are many before that.
