Sony Vegas won’t allow me to drop video files into the timeline
This has been an issue on Sony Vegas 12 and 10. I got Vegas 10 to see if 12 was the problem but the problem carried over. It should be noted that I didn’t always have this problem until a month ago. I have since then quit all my current video projects which is a shame.
Recently I tried again to see if the problem was still present, and it still is. Every time I try to drag and drop the video files I normally use into the timeline, a “cancel sign (circle with a slash through it)” appears. The symbol appears instantaneously, as if to show Vegas’ instant rejection of the file.
The file I am using is an .mp4. I used websites such as https://keepvid.com/ and https://www.clipconverter.cc/ to convert youtube videos and edit them. I used to use them all the time until it randomly stopped allowing me to use the clips. The problem also stems to videos that I’ve taken on my iphone and emailed to my computer. They’re .avi files, but I believe there based on quicktime. Those also stopped working around the same time. However, pictures, audio, and some video files still work. Like if I ran any of the previous clips through a file converter, they would work, but at the sacrafice of quality of stability.
Help would be gladly appreciated!
