Sony vegas upgrade dynamic memory!!

No idea what you’re talking about here. There is no option of “upgrading memory” in Vegas. Your PC is given the upgraded memory, and as long as the PC recognizes the upgrade, Windows will automatically use it. Vegas allocates memory as it needs it, up to the limits of the program.

There are some limits on some of the things you can set in Vegas, like RAM preview, but you really don’t want to setting a huge value for RAM preview on a system with such a small (well, you’re talking to a guy with a 16GB RAM system on 64-bit Windows 7) amount of memory. There’s nothing you need to adjust in Vegas to use additional amounts of memory at 2.5GB.

Given your memory size, you’re very likely running a 32-bit operating system. No conventional 32-bit application, including Vegas, will use more than 2GB of memory on its own. Not really a concern if you have only 2.5GB, since your operating system and other overhead will find plenty to do with the additional 512MB.

The most likely reason is that you are using the 32-bit version of Vegas which, as Dave pointed out, can only see 2GB of memory regardless of how much memory your PC physically has.

You can increase dynamic ram in the 32bit version to a max of 3072Mb, but it requires resetting the 1024 max setting in internal settings.

The question is do you REALLY need more than 1gig??

You do know what dynamic ram preview (SHIFT B) is and how it works?

well, I use ir for prerender and load the preview of the video in an external monitor, but happends that with 1 gb wont pre render the whole proyect and in a poor quality.
do you think it will make a difference?

This is not really what it’s mean for. Dynamic RAM preview is meant to preview transitions and other small sections for accuracy. I would use Tools | Preview in Player to preview the whole project.
