May 23, 2011 at 1:22 amI’ve been here working on this all afternoon trying to understand it. I actually figured out the black margins it was simple. I have a better question. Let’s imagine your video with the motorcycle was actually longer. Let’s suppose you want to keep the text on the screen for 20 seconds and then get rid of it and let it show up again after 10 seconds. Do you get what im saying? how can I do that? there are parts in my video where I don’t need the motion tracking anymore but then after I few seconds I need it again. How can i do that? thanks alot.

Match Move is a 2-to-1 Transform. It’s no different than any other compositing mode. It affects the entire track so you can only use that track for the intended composition. All you need to do is use another track above that one for other video events. Optionally, you could use a nested project for just the match move as well but Vegas has unlimited tracks, don’t be afraid to use them.

Place the non-motion tracked video on a track above. It will be seen first and not be affected by the motion tracking.
