Sony Vegas Startup Error/What programs does it need to start?
I recently was cleaning programs off my computer that i didn’t use. Afterwards I tried running Sony Vegas 11 (32 bit version) and it immediately tells me that there is a error, and it closes vegas. This has happened before when I accidentally uninstalled Apple Quicktime, so I am positive I accidentally uninstalled something important or vegas. I’ve tried reinstalling Vegas but I get the same error. Is there a way i can look at a list of programs i recently uninstalled, or does sommeone have a list of what i need to have in order for Vegas to work?

You will have to try doing a complete uninstall and then reinstalling Vegas. EG, obtain a program that removes registry keys and such. You shouldn’t need quicktime to run Vegas — only to view mov files (and thus, Vegas will use the codec to run).
Vegas only needs what comes on a basic Windows box. That is, if you buy a fresh machine, and install Vegas, everything’s there and it works.
So my thoughts are you uninstalled a program that uninstalled something that comes with the Windows OS, or uninstalled something you had Vegas configured to use. Since Vegas won’t start, you’ll have to get some sort of program that can dig through the registry and remove those settings.
Also try going into your C:Document and Settings folder, look for your userid, and remove any Vegas folders in there (after you’ve uninstalled Vegas) — you might get lucky. 🙂
